When life throws you an apple, gather as many apples as you can (especially the rotten ones), take a metal baseball bat (make it a Louisville Slugger), and hit each one as hard as you can. Make sure that you smash them to little bits. The goal here is to make apple sauce.

After all, apple sauce is better than plain old apples, but only after they're cooked and sugar is added to them.
