2002-02-05 @ 4:04 p.m. I need to get out more and I don't think I'm alone. I walked out of E's Express today at THREE IN THE AFTERNOON and walked past this kid who said to his friend, "this is the first time I've seen the sun in days!" Shit, I feel fat and thin at the same time! I feel healthy one moment, then like a bum the next. I want to go out and swim laps or something, but I have homework and other things to do that are more important. And oh yeah, I'm sick. I just remembered 2 things that I was going to tell madeleine, so I guess I'll just list them here so I won't forget. #1. The story of the African Tribe I was telling you about last night was in reference to Hamlet, the Shakespeare story an Anthropologist told to his tribe. The major thing the tribe couldn't understand was that Hamlet talked back to his own mother instead of the Ghosts. Still, they were confused about the ghosts. #2. I don't know if you could hear Paul McCartney talk during the halftime of the Superbowl game, but besides singing with Terry Bradshaw, he made the reference to how "fitting" it was that the Patroits were in the game. It's even more fitting that they won the game. Rigged? I don't know, but it does seem kind of suspicious, especially after they totally sucked last year. If they play well again next year, maybe I'll believe it. I thought that the Kansas State vs KU game was poorly officiated. I thought that Jim Woolridge had the right to yell at the officals. If KU had recieved the poor calls like Kansas State got last night, I would have been livid. So, I just would like to say good job to the Kansas State coach. I won't bad mouth him when they come to Lawrence. When Bobby Knight comes to town on Saturday, I'm not going to be so kind!
