Looking forward to Fall Break

2002-10-14 @ 1:06 p.m.

I didn't really have much of a weekend. It was pretty much dominated by that horrible homecoming parade and football game. And then I had to go home and write a paper for my education class. After that I went out with Madeleine and her roommate to La Parrilla to watch them eat. They were pretty intoxicated too. Oh yeah, I didn't drink any alcohol this weekend either. But still it was fun being with my girlfriend to end that pretty horrible day. Then Sunday I studied for my politics and pretty much finished up my paper. Then I went to the politics review session, which was sort of helpful. Then ate dinner with my family (or what's remaining of it) for the first time in a week and a half. That was pretty good I guess. Then I went to have Madeleine help me study more for the politics test. I was getting pretty worried after studying with her because I wasn't sure of I was going to be able to get everything covered for the test on tuesday. But I was so burned out from the entire weekend of band and trying to be productive in studying that I just gave up.

Then Madeleine and I went to the food store and bought some food for the person that was making dinner for their kitchen today, as well as some raspberry sorbet and lime chips. Oh, yeah, lime chips are one of our traditions. An event just isn't the same without them.

Then we went back and watched 'Swing Kids,' which is a movie about German teenagers in the late 1930's who are addicted to American fashion and swing music. It was a great movie. Even though I knew this, one may not know that all non-jewish Germans were for the Nazi state of Germany. This is pretty much the entire basis of the movie, which was pretty cool.

So today I woke up at 10 and talked to my pols TA for 15 minutes and then decided to go to the library to study some more for my test. I continued to study and even skipped my Geography class to keep studying. However, I feel much more confident with everything that I need to know for this test and I think I'm going to do much better now. I'm still going to study more tonight of course and Madeleine said that she'll help me study some more, so I think I'll probably wil be good to go for tomorrow.

After that I'll have a nice long fall break to look forward to. Maybe then I can finally enjoy myself.
