2002-10-19 @ 1:54 a.m. To: toliver@UKANS.EDU Subject: Sat. Schedule Sent: 10/18/2002 6:29 PM Marching Jayhawks, I hope you enjoyed a brief rest. You have certainly earned it. Since Wednesday was a bit chaotic, I want to remind everyone of the schedule for tomorrow. We will begin rehearsal tomorrow morning at 8:30am in the stadium facing the east side in the concert arcs. We will conclude no later than 10:30. Tailgating (Chancellor's Band) immediately following rehearsal. Report time at the top of the hill will be 11:30. March down at 12:00. Pre-game 12:40. Kick-off at 1:00. See you tomorrow! Rock Chalk, Dr. Oliver Yeah, considering that it's almost 2 am I think I'm a little screwed. But it's ok. Today turned out to be pretty good actually. I woke up around noon, studied a bit, walked Oberon, then went to my drum line rehearsal. After that I dropped off something that Madeleine left at my house and went home. Then my dad came home and we decided to go out to eat. Before we left, Madeleine called and asked if we could meet her parents, since they're here. So after we ate at a pretty bad restruant called the Salty Iguana, we went to see them at Miller. We talked to them for awhile and it was really good. My dad thought Madeleine's parents were really nice people, but didn't think they would be the way he thought they would be like. It was really great and it was all Madeleine's idea. After that I went to go see Jason and we hung out with his girlfriend Leslie and her twin sister Jennifer and Louis who was my cousin's roommate last year (small world, huh?) and this other random guy who was pretty funny. We played some Circle of Death, but I didn't drink much. Only had one drink, but it was really fun and informal. I missed Jason a lot and it was great to see him again. I promised to hang out with him in a couple of weeks when I have more time. I also arranged to study for the future geography tests with Jennifer since we're in the same class. But we can't study for this next one since it's on wednesday and I literally have no time to study let alone finish reading all of this stuff to be ready. Ahh, fall break is evil because they say don't do any homework, but we'll give you some tests as soon as you get back. You have to study in order to do well on these tests, so the entire break you either worry about doing poorly on the tests, just study the entire break, or both. It sucks, but thats college...you're never supposed to get a break. So I'm a little tipsy. I saw an accident as I was coming home at the intersection of 15th and Kasold...2 blocks from my house. It looked like a one car accident. I assume it was a drunk driver who lost control on the slippery street and ran into a median. It looked moderately serious because the paramedics were there too attending to the driver. Stuff like that makes me feel fortunate that I've had some close calls as a driver and that I should always be careful and not take those close calls for granted or I'll be in serious trouble. Or dead, who knows. Well, it's definitely time to go to bed. We're playing Texas A&M tomorrow, so likey we'll lose. Again. But that's ok, I'm used to it. Goodnight.
