Survive and advance

2003-03-21 @ 2:10 a.m.

I really like the fact that Diaryland erased the last entry I made a couple of days ago.

Well, not much going on. I tried to be an expert on the NCAA brackets, but things aren't going so well. In the first day of action, I've gone 11/16. I did pick some wild upsets, missing those. Three of the games I lost all came down to the wire, which makes things very frusturating. Tomorrow should be another tough day of action...maybe I should just give up trash-talking against some of the Pearson guys...It's a losing battle for me anyway by cheering for Duke to beat KU. I don't want Duke to win...they both played crappy tonight and by judging both games, I think KU played better, despite only winning by 3 compared to Duke's 10. KU can beat Duke, but we'll first see if they can get by Arizona State.

I'm trying to keep reading my book, but it's getting boring. I only read about 20 pages today. I know bad bad me...my ear was glued to the radio since I don't have cable at my parent's house. Then I went to Shlotszkys where Jason works and we watched tonight's games there until he got off work at 10. There was absolutely nobody that came in there tonight, so he was able to chill most of the time and watch the games w/o getting up. He gets off at 3 tomorrow, so I'll go over to his apartment then to watch the second portion of the first round. Should be exciting...hope my teams win.

I feel like I've been on the internet a ton recently, and I found this survey to figure out how addicted I am to the internet. Here are the results:

Well, I think I'm just a little more addicted than that. I've been on the computer most of today. My dad hates it, but I don't care. It's spring break and its crap outside. I do need to go swimming soon though. I have a lot of energy that I need to burn off...

I guess its really easy and cheap to call France for some reason, so Madeleine and I have arranged to call each other on the weekends now! You have no idea how much I miss hearing her voice. She called me two days ago and it was the first time we talked to each other over the phone in about 2 months. It was so great. So now that we'll be able to talk with each other at least once a week will be great. Plus there really isn't that much time left before she comes back. Things are looking great and I can't wait to see her again.

I just got my state tax refunds in the mail. $39 all together. $12 from Kansas and $27 from Missouri. It's really not that hard doing taxes. I learned this year from my dad and hopefully I'll be able to manage it on my own next year. Of course he'll always be there to double check me. Thats always good to have.

I still need to get my concert tickets for Widespread Panic and Steve Kimock. Joe found yet another concert to go to. And Dave Chappelle is coming up in nine days. Wow, the time flies. There's a ton of concerts coming right up!

Well, thats about it for now. Until I write again, let's hope the Jayhawks can continue to survive and advance in this wacked out tournament! I agree with what Lee says: 'Invest in NCAA basketball, not war.' It could really save this country a lot of money, lives, everything.
